Alwin Stege (1974) began his career as a Ph.D. researcher at Vrije Universiteit in 1998. His research related to collective labour law. He earned his doctorate in 2004 by defending his Ph.D. thesis “De CAO en het regelingsbereik van de sociale partners” (The collective agreement and the regulatory reach of management and trade unions).

In 2002, Alwin began as a lawyer in the employment law section of Allen & Overy. He also worked at Vogel and Ruitenberg lawyers (2005-2008) and at Lexence (2008-2015). Alwin joined Zilver Advocaten as a partner as of 1 July 2015. His practice relates to all matters in the field of employment law. In the Netherlands, Alwin is a highly-regarded specialist in the field of collective labour law. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Employment Lawyers (VAAN) and the Association for Employment Law (VvA) and is recommended in Chambers Europe.

Alwin still works with Vrije Universiteit as a university lecturer, teaching collective labour law to master students. He also works for the Tijdschrift Recht en Arbeid (Journal for Law and Employment) and for the Jurisprudentie Arbeidsrecht (Employment Case Law).
