Maurits van Buren
My name is Maurits van Buren. Because of my direct and personal approach, I am the ideal sparring partner in employment law for small and medium-sized employers in the Greater Amsterdam region.
Entrepreneurial
Successful entrepreneurship is a matter of taking risks, falling down nine times and getting up ten times. Entrepreneurs who work from this conviction, that is whom I prefer to work with. As far as I am concerned, a lawyer always thinks in terms of possibilities and creative solutions. And is not afraid to take risks. That is what I stand for.
Aimed at small and medium-sized employers
In 2008 I started as an employment lawyer at Brantjes Advocaten, where I worked with various employer clients. In 2016, at the age of 31, I became a partner and self-employed entrepreneur. In 2019 I started working with Zilver Advocaten, where I now run a successful employment law practice together with my partners.
My experience in advising employers has shown me how strongly the protection of employees is regulated in the Netherlands. The increasing regulatory burden that employers have to comply with is undeniable and seems to be increasing year after year. This reality was reaffirmed for me after completing my studies in American law in 2012. Although the Dutch love to do business, this regulatory burden is an obstacle to the business climate. My goal is to change this by working with small and medium-sized employers who share the same drive and conviction. In this way, they can fully focus on the growth of their business.
My approach
I help employers solve employment law issues. Whether it is an ill employee, a labor dispute or a summary dismissal: I will work with you to find the best solution, with immediate results. My focus is on small and medium-sized employers in the Greater Amsterdam region.
I strive for high-quality and efficient services. I continuously invest in improving our own business operations so as to better serve my clients. Whether it is personal development in the field of employment law, enlisting the help of other experts or the use of modern technology. In addition, the personal relationship of trust with the client is central to me – I want to be able to read and write with you in the long term.
A fast, efficient solution and immediate results are paramount. Preferably outside the courtroom, and it is necessary, also inside it. No extensive advice or endless correspondence, but clear and personal. With my expertise, experience, solution-oriented approach and entrepreneurial mentality, I am the ideal sparring partner in employment law for small and medium-sized employers.
In addition to my work as a lawyer, I am a passionate music lover and spend my free time creating electronic music, a creative outlet that perfectly complements my law work.
